15 Years Supporting Community-led Public SpaceTransformation
It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since 8 80 Cities was created. In that time, we’ve worked in over 350 communities on 5 continents bringing people together to transform mobility and public space to create more equitable, sustainable, and healthy cities for all.
What sticks with us are the people we’ve met along the way in big cities and small towns, across diverse cultures and lived experiences, who share in the passion and optimism for a better world. The clients, partners, residents, leaders, and community champions that understand a better world begins with a better street corner, a better block, a better park, a better street, a better city. It’s those people who will define the vision of what our future can be.
This has been a particularly challenging year, with COVID-19 disproportionately impacting the quality of life for children and older adults, especially amongst racialized communities. That’s only strengthened our resolve to help build cities that prioritize the everyday dignity, health, and well-being of people.
We know we’ve got a lot more work to do and are ready to work with you and push ourselves even further on achieving our goals.
